Common use of Half-Salary Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Half-Salary Sick Leave. Tenured/tenure-track faculty are eligible for half salary sick leave up to a maximum of one hundred (100) days of their contractual assignment. Absence for any portion of a workday shall be considered as one complete day of half- salary sick leave. Tenured/tenure-track faculty are eligible to be placed on half- salary sick leave status following the exhaustion of both their full salary sick leave accrual and their sick leave allotment for that fiscal year. The exact number of half salary sick leave days a faculty member is eligible for will be computed by summing the total number of full salary sick leave days accrued, allotted, and used within the fiscal year, and then subtracting this total from one hundred (100).
