Holidays on Saturday and Sunday. When New Year's Day, Independence Day, Veteran's Day, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day fall on Saturday, the preceding day will be a holiday, and when they fall on Sunday, the following day will be a holiday. Holidays for continuous operations employees of the Public Utilities Department and for the secretaries and clerical technicians working in the Police Department will be considered as occurring on the calendar day the holiday occurs and shall not be shifted if the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday.
