Holidays on Work Days. ‌ If the majority portion of a regular employee’s shift falls on a recognized holiday, at the option of the Chief of Police, the employee shall either not be required to work the shift and get holiday pay, or if the majority portion of a regular employee’s shift that falls on recognized holiday is worked, receive the overtime rate of pay of time and one-half (1- 1/2) in addition to the holiday pay.

  • Work Days The work day shall consist of an assigned shift within twenty-four (24) consecutive hours commencing at 12:01 a.m.

  • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.

  • Sick Days All employees shall be entitled to two (2) paid sick days each calendar year, upon completion of six (6) months of employment with the Employer. Employees are entitled to one additional paid sick day for each completed five (5) year term of service with the Employer, to a maximum annual entitlement of five (5) paid sick days. Pay for sick days is equal to eight (8) hours at an employee’s regular hourly rate of pay. Sick days cannot be carried over or paid out if not used within the calendar year.

  • Work on Holidays An employee who is required to work, or works with prior approval, any part of a holiday shall receive holiday compensatory time for up to eight (8) hours, on an hour for hour basis, for the actual non-overtime hours worked in addition to their regular rate of pay. An employee who works overtime on a holiday shall be compensated in accordance with all applicable pay and overtime provisions. An employee must use holiday compensatory time within one (1) year after having accrued that time.

  • Holidays The following days are observed as holidays by state agencies in accordance with section 110.117, F.S.: • New Year’s Day • Birthday of Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xx., third Monday in January • Memorial Day • Independence Day • Labor Day • Veterans’ Day, November 11 • Thanksgiving Day • Friday after Thanksgiving • Christmas Day If any of these holidays falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as a holiday. If any of these holidays falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be observed as a holiday. Customers may have additional holiday(s) observed specifically by the Customer which will be detailed in the Customer’s order.

  • Work Day The standard work day shall be eight (8) consecutive hours of work exclusive of a lunch period in a consecutive twenty-four (24) hour day.

Except as provided in Section 1.E., below, if a holiday, designated in 1.A., above, falls on a Saturday but is observed on the preceding Friday by the Superior Court, employees who have been designated by the County as being necessary to the operation of said Court may be allowed to observe the Court observed Friday holiday in lieu of the Saturday holiday provided such employees are given notice of their work schedule change not less than thirty (30) calendar days prior to the holiday. C. When a holiday other than Christmas Day, falls on a Sunday, the next day shall be observed as the holiday. D. When New Year's Day falls on a Saturday, the Friday immediately preceding shall be observed as the holiday. E. When Christmas Day or New Year’s Day falls on a Sunday, the next day (Monday) shall be observed as the holiday unless an employee is required to work on December 25 or January 1, respectively, as part of his or her normal work schedule. In such cases the employee may, with Agency/Department approval, observe the holiday on December 25 or January 1, respectively. Under no circumstances shall an employee receive holiday compensation for both December 25 and the following Monday, or for both January 1 and the following Monday. F. When Christmas Day or New Year’s Day falls on a Saturday, the Friday immediately preceding shall be observed as the holiday unless an employee is required to work on December 25 or January 1, respectively, as part of his or her normal work schedule. In such cases the employee may, with Agency/Department approval, observe the holiday on December 25 or January 1, respectively. Under no circumstances shall an employee receive holiday compensation for both December 25 and the Friday immediately preceding or for both January 1 and the Friday immediately preceding. G. Notwithstanding Sections 1.B through 1.F above, the County may designate holiday observances as follows: 1. When Xxxxxxx’s Birthday, Independence Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Christmas Day or New Year’s Day falls on a Sunday, the next day (Monday) shall be observed as the holiday unless an employee is required to work on the actual holiday (rather than the observed holiday) as part of his or her normal work schedule. In such cases the employee may, with Agency/Department approval, observe the holiday on the actual holiday rather than the observed holiday. Under no circumstances shall an employee receive holiday compensation for both the actual holiday (occurring on Sunday) and the observed holiday (occurring on Monday). 2. When Xxxxxxx’s Birthday, Independence Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Christmas Day or New Year’s Day falls on a Saturday, the Friday immediately preceding shall be observed as the holiday unless an employee is required to work on the actual holiday (rather than the observed holiday) as part of his or her normal work schedule. In such cases the employee may, with Agency/Department approval, observe the holiday on the actual holiday rather than the observed holiday. Under no circumstances shall an employee receive holiday compensation for both the actual holiday (occurring on Saturday) and the observed holiday (occurring on the Friday immediately preceding). 3. Subsections 1 and 2 above will not be implemented unless the County implements the same holiday schedule for other recognized bargaining units (other than AOCDS).

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.

  • Working Days Without prejudice to clause 9.1, where the Authority funds the delivery of this Contract using European Social Fund (ESF) funds or in its role as a Co-financing Organisation uses this contract as a match for ESF provision, either at the outset of the contract or at any point during the life of the contract, the Contractor and any Sub-contractors appointed by it shall be bound by the corresponding additional requirements detailed within relevant Contractor Guidance, including the maintaining of records until at least 31 December 2023.

  • Weeks Any leave of absence for maternity, paternity or adoption that results from the birth or adoption of a child(ren) that is medically necessary as evidenced by an attending physician’s statement is covered by the sick leave provisions of this Agreement. The attending physician’s statement shall be submitted to the District concerning the medical circumstances that require the leave. Employees may access their earned sick leave during parenting leave up to twelve (12) weeks or the time specified by their physician. Leaves to care for children in excess of twelve (12) weeks that are not medically necessary may qualify as personal leaves of absence.
