Hospital-laundered clothing. Nurses who are required to wear Hospital- 24 laundered uniforms in order to perform their assigned work will be given a maximum of 25 seven (7) minutes after the beginning of their regular shift and seven (7) minutes prior to 26 the end of their regular shift to clean up and change clothes. 28 Section 2. The basic work period (pay period) shall be eighty (80) hours every 29 two-week period, beginning at 2245 hours every other Saturday. 31 For alternative work schedules other than eight (8) hours per day, the Hospital 32 may designate a workweek of forty (40) hours in seven (7) days beginning at 2245 33 hours every Saturday. 34 35 Section 3. Nurses will not be scheduled to work three (3) consecutive weekends 1 without their written approval. Nurses shall be scheduled to receive every other 2 weekend off whenever possible. Nurse will be informed prior to the posting of the final 3 schedule if she is required to work two (2) weekends in a row. 5 Section 4. Weekend or alternative schedules, requested in writing by the nurse, 6 may be arranged by mutual agreement with the Hospital. 8 Section 5. Work schedules shall be posted by the 15th of the prior month. If the 9 15th falls on a weekend when the department is not open, the schedule shall be posted 10 prior to the department closing for the weekend. 12 Section 6. Nurses who are scheduled to report for work, and who are permitted 13 to come to work without receiving a minimum of two (2) hours’ prior notice that no work 14 is available in their regular assignment, shall perform any nursing work to which they 15 may be assigned and for which the Hospital has determined they are qualified on the 16 basis of relevant skill, education and nursing experience. When the Hospital is unable to 17 utilize such nurse and the reason for lack of work is within the control of the Hospital, 18 the nurse shall be paid an amount equivalent to four (4) hours at step wage plus 19 applicable differential. A nurse who was scheduled to work less than four (4) hours on 20 such day shall be paid for regularly-scheduled number of hours of work for reporting 21 and not working. The provisions of this Section shall not apply if the lack of work is not 22 within the control of the Hospital or if the Hospital makes a reasonable effort to notify the 23 nurse by telephone as stated above in this Section.
