Illness, Injury and Emergency Leave (Sick Leave. Each regularly assigned employee shall receive credit for twelve (12) days of illness and injury leave at the beginning of each year. New employees hired for regular assignment after the start of the school year shall receive credit for one (1) day of illness and injury leave for each month of the assignment through the balance of the current school year. This leave shall be recorded in hours based on the number of hours per day in the regular assignment at the time the leave is accumulated. When illness and injury leave is required, the accumulated leave shall be used and paid on the basis of the daily hours in the then current regular assignment.
