Illness or Injury During Paid Vacation Leave. An employee shall be entitled to use sick leave credits for the length of that employee’s incapacitation by reason of injury or illness while on paid vacation leave provided, however, that such employee must substantiate such incapacitation and the reason or reasons therefore by certification by a licensed physician, physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner (working under the authority of a licensed physician).

Illness or Injury During Paid Vacation Leave. An eligible employee shall be entitled to use accrued sick leave credits for the length during any period of that employee’s incapacitation by reason of injury or illness while on paid vacation leave time off in lieu of receiving pay as provided in Article 16 Paid Days Off; provided, however, that any employee electing to receive sick pay compensation under this provision must support such employee must substantiate such incapacitation and the reason or reasons therefore by certification election by a licensed physician, physician’s assistant medical doctor's written verification of the incapacitating injury or nurse practitioner (working under the authority of a licensed physician)illness.
