In-Service Examination. (a) Employees shall be permitted to write any in-service examination required by the Employer, upon satisfactory completion of the necessary term of service and training programs. Employees who fail an in-service examination shall, upon request and where available, receive a copy of their examination paper and shall be eligible to be re-examined. This provision shall not apply to examinations set as a condition of initial employment. (b) Eligible candidates participating in a posted competition for a regular position, and who are required to take an examination as a part of the competitive process, including the testing of keyboarding skills, shall be administered at no cost to the employee.
