Insurance Ombudsman. Where the redressal provided by the Company is not satisfactory despite the escalation above, the customer may represent the case to the Ombudsman for Redressal of the grievance, if it pertains to the following: - Delay in settlement of claim - Partial or total rejection of claim; - Dispute with regard to premium; - Misrepresentation of policy terms and conditions; - Legal construction of the policy in so far as dispute related to claim; - Grievance relating to policy servicing; - Issuance of policy which is not in conformity with proposal form; - Non- issuance of your insurance document; and - Any other matter resulting from the violation of provisions of the Insurance Act, 1938 or the regulations, circulars, guidelines or instructions issued by the IRDAI from time to time or the terms and conditions of the policy contract, in so far as they relate to issues mentioned hereinabove. As per provision 14(3) of the Insurance Ombudsman Rules, 2017; the complaint to the Ombudsman can be made: • Only if the grievance has been rejected by the Grievance Redressal Machinery of the Insurer; or • the complainant had not received any reply within a period of one month after the Insurer received his representation; or • the complainant is not satisfied with the reply given to him by the Insurer.
