Jury and Witness Leave. Employees must notify their supervisors upon receipt of a subpoena for jury or witness duty, keep their supervisors apprised of the schedule for their jury or witness duties, and report to work when the court schedule permits. Employees subpoenaed to appear for jury service will receive pay at their regular rate of pay for work hours missed because of their required jury duty service. An employee will be allowed to retain any compensation paid for jury duty service. Employees subpoenaed as a witness, or whose testimony is pertinent to a work-related court or administrative hearing will receive pay at their regular rate, unless the employee: Is a party in the matter and is not represented by the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Washington, or Has an economic interest in the matter. Employees assigned to work an evening or night shift will be reassigned to a day shift for the duration of the jury or witness service. Employees subpoenaed as an arbitration witness shall receive pay in accordance with Article 37.6.
