Leave for Family Obligations. At the discretion of the Department Chair/Unit Head a paid or an unpaid leave may be provided to respond to certain circumstances or an emergency situation which may arise in a part-time faculty member’s personal or family life necessitating an absence from teaching responsibilities. Written notification, shall be provided whenever possible, to the appropriate Department Chair/Unit Head citing the reasons for such a leave from the University. Department Chairs/Unit Heads may grant a paid or unpaid leave for a period not exceeding seven (7) consecutive working days upon written notification to the part-time faculty member and the Association.

Leave for Family Obligations a) For the purposes of paragraphs b) and c), «relative» means, in addition to the employee’s spouse, the child, father, mother, brother, sister and grandparents of the employee or the employee’s spouse as well as those persons’ spouses, their children and their children’s spouses.
Leave for Family Obligations. 13.08.1 An employee may be absent from work, without pay, during ten (10) days per year to fulfill obligations related to the care, health or education of her/his child or the child of her/his spouse, or due to the state of health of her/his spouse, father, mother, brother, sister or one of her/his grandparents. Of these ten (10) days, two (2) shall be without loss of pay. The leave may be divided into days. A day may also be divided with the approval of the employee’s immediate supervisor. The employee must notify her/his immediate supervisor as soon as possible and take all reasonable steps within her/his power to limit the leave and the duration of the leave.
Leave for Family Obligations. Subject to the other provisions of the Agreement, in accordance with section 79.7 of the Act respecting labour standards (R.S.Q., c. N-1.1), a teacher shall be entitled to a leave of absence without salary for a period of 10 days each year to perform duties related to the custody, health or education of his or her child or the child of his or her spouse, or related to the state of health of his or her spouse, father, mother, a brother, sister or one of his or her grandparents. The leave may be divided into days. A day may also be divided with the Board‘s consent. The teacher must inform the Board of his or her leave as soon as possible and take reasonable means to limit the number and duration of the leaves. Days taken for this purpose shall be deducted from the teacher‘s annual bank of sick-leave days, up to 6 days.

  • Unpaid Leave for Family Purpose a. An employee may elect, with the consent of the employer, to take unpaid leave for the purpose of providing care and support to a member of a class of person set out in sub-paragraph (ii) or paragraph (c) of sub-clause (1) who is ill.

  • Leave for Family Illness In the case of illness of a member of an employee’s immediate family, meaning spouse, son, daughter, father, mother, or person to whom the employee is legal guardian when no one at home other than the employee can provide for the needs of the ill person, the employee may be granted, after notifying her immediate management supervisor, leave with pay up to five (5) working days per fiscal year, for the purpose of making such arrangements as are necessary to permit the employee’s return to work. The immediate management supervisor may require proof of the need for such leave as she considers necessary.

  • Statutory Obligations Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed to modify, eliminate or detract from the statutory responsibilities and obligations of the Employer except that the exercise of its rights in the furtherance of such statutory obligations shall not be in conflict with the provisions of this Agreement.

  • How to Add or Remove Coverage for Family Members If your plan offers family coverage, you must notify your employer if you want to add or remove family members according to the Special Enrollment provisions described above. When adding or removing a family member, inform your employer in advance of the requested effective date and your employer will notify us. All requests must be made through your employer. We cannot directly add or remove coverage for you or your family members.

  • Member Obligations In addition to the above, Member promises the following:

  • Participant Obligations In partial consideration for the award of these PSUs, if at any time during the period between the Grant Date and the 12-month period following the Participant’s termination of Employment (the “Obligation Period”), the Participant: (i) directly or indirectly, hires or solicits or arranges for the hiring or solicitation of any employee of the Company or its Affiliates, or encourages any employee to leave the Company; (ii) directly or indirectly, assist in soliciting in competition with the Company the business of any current customer, distributor or dealer or other sales or distribution channel partners of the Company; (iii) uses, discloses, misappropriates or transfers confidential or proprietary information concerning the Company or its Affiliates (except as required by the Participant’s work responsibilities with the Company or its Affiliates); or (iv) engages in any activity in violation of Company policies, including the Company’s Code of Conduct, or engages in conduct materially adverse to the best interests of the Company or its Affiliates; the PSUs, whether previously vested or not, may be cancelled in full, and the Participant may be required to return to the Company any shares received on settlement of vested PSUs or the net after-tax income from any disposition of any shares received upon settlement of vested PSUs, unless the Committee, in its sole discretion, elects not to cancel the PSUs and/or elects not to recover any income from settled and vested PSUs or unless applicable law prohibits such action. The obligations in this subsection are in addition to any other agreements related to non-solicitation and preservation of Company confidential and proprietary information entered into between the Participant and the Company, or otherwise applicable to the Participant, and nothing in this Agreement is intended to waive, modify, alter or amend the terms of any such other agreement. THE PARTICIPANT UNDERSTANDS THAT THIS SUBSECTION IS NOT INTENDED TO AND DOES NOT PROHIBIT THE CONDUCT DESCRIBED, BUT PROVIDES FOR THE CANCELLATION OF THE AWARD IN FULL AND A RETURN TO THE COMPANY OF ANY SHARES RECEIVED ON SETTLEMENT OF VESTED PSUS OR THE NET AFTER-TAX INCOME FROM THE DISPOSITION OF ANY SHARES RECEIVED UPON SETTLEMENT OF VESTED PSUS IF THE PARTICIPANT SHOULD CHOOSE TO VIOLATE THIS PARAGRAPH DURING THE OBLIGATION PERIOD. Nothing in this Agreement prohibits the Participant from voluntarily communicating, without notice to or approval by the Company, with any federal government agency about a potential violation of a federal law or regulation.

  • Limited Obligations This Agreement does not create any obligation of the Securities Intermediary except for those expressly set forth in this Agreement. The Securities Intermediary may conclusively rely and shall be fully protected in acting or refraining from acting upon notices and communications it believes to be genuine and given by the appropriate party. Except for permitting a withdrawal, delivery or payment in violation of Article III, the Securities Intermediary shall not be liable to the Secured Party, the Servicer or the Issuer for any error of judgment made in good faith and in accordance with this Agreement, nor shall it otherwise be liable under this Agreement except as a result of its own willful misconduct, bad faith or negligence.
