Common use of Leave for Union Office Clause in Contracts

Leave for Union Office. An employee who is elected or appointed to Union office shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence, part-time or full-time, for the term of office. Seniority shall accrue during such leave, and group benefits participation may continue, at the employee's own expense. The leave may be terminated by the employee with two (2) months' written notice.

Leave for Union Office. An employee who is elected or appointed to selected for a full-time position with the Union, or Anybody, with which the Union office is affiliated, shall be entitled to an unpaid granted a leave of absence, part-time or full-time, absence without loss of seniority for the first term of such elected office. Such leave may be renewed on request during his/her subsequent term(s) of office at the discretion of the Employer. Seniority shall accrue be retained and accumulated during such leave, and group benefits participation may continue, at the employee's own expense. The leave may be terminated by the employee with two (2) months' written noticeleave(s).
