Leave of Absence for Full-Time Union Duties. At the request of the Union, the Employer may grant either one (1) of the Union president or unit vice-president a leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority to deal solely with union matters for the duration of her/his term in office. Such leave shall be renewed each year upon request, for a period not exceeding her/his term of office.

At the request of the Union, the (a) The Employer may will grant either one (1) of the Union president or unit vice-president a an employee leave of absence without pay for at the most one (1) calendar year in order to work as a full-time official of the Union or for any organization to which the Union is affiliated. The leave must be requested by the Union and without loss extension requests to such leaves of absence shall not be unreasonably refused by the Employer. The employee shall retain any seniority accrued as of the absence, and shall continue to deal solely with union matters for accumulate seniority during the duration of her/his term in office. Such leave shall be renewed each year upon request, for a period not exceeding her/his term of officeabsence.
