Common use of Leave of Absence for Jury Duty Clause in Contracts

Leave of Absence for Jury Duty. It is the mutual intent of the District and the SMMCTA that Jury Service be encouraged but also limited as far as practical to the period of time when the continuity of instruction would not be adversely affected. If the court refuses to grant a postponement, paid leave shall be granted to unit members for jury service during their work year and the unit member shall notify site administrator/supervisor and submit a copy of the jury summons, indicating the date(s) and location of service, to the Human Resources Department.
