Leave, Paid Education. Eligible members may apply for paid education leave to enroll in seminars, short courses, and other similar instructional programs for the purpose of obtaining or enhancing skills and knowledge directly related to their employment at the University. Applications must be accompanied by a recommendation from the member’s department head, and be submitted to the Xxxx or Senior Administrative Head at least four (4) weeks prior to the commencement of the proposed leave. The Xxxx or Senior Administrative Head shall determine whether the training will be of sufficient benefit to the member and the University to qualify for paid education leave, and whether the effect on the normal operation of the member’s department is sufficiently minimal to permit this absence. Leave, Paid Education. Eligible members as defined in Table 12 may apply for paid education leave to enroll in seminars, short courses, and other similar instructional programs for the purpose of obtaining or enhancing skills and knowledge directly related to their employment at the University. Applications must be accompanied by a recommendation from the member’s department head, and be submitted to the Associate Vice-President, Human Resources at least four (4) weeks prior to the commencement of the proposed leave. The Associate Vice-President, Human Resources shall determine whether the training will be of sufficient benefit to the member and the University to qualify for paid education leave, and whether the effect on the normal operation of the member’s department is sufficiently minimal to permit this absence.   • Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund, one (1¢) cent per hour per employee for all compensated hours for the purpose of providing paid education leave. Such leave will be for upgrading the employee skills in all aspects of trade union functions.   • Adult Education Teachers of Adult Education shall be paid at the rate of thirty-five ($35.00) an hour. Break time will not be deducted from teachers’ pay.

  • Employee Education (A) At the discretion of the Agency Head or designee, the state may allow employees to attend short courses, institutes, and workshops which will improve their performance in their current position, without a loss of pay and benefits.

  • Union Education If the local union indicates to the Hospital that its members have approved a special assessment for union education in accordance with the CUPE constitution and local union by laws, the Hospital agrees to deduct this assessment. Such assessment will be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established and administered by OCHU/CUPE for this purpose.

  • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.

  • Continuing Education 24.01 The Hospital and the Union recognize that continuing education is important for all employees and that they have shared interests and responsibilities in ensuring equitable access to it.
