Leave Without Pay for the Care and Nurturing of Pre-School Age Children. a) At the request of an employee, leave without pay in one (1) or more periods to a total maximum of five (5) years during an employee's total period of employment at the National Film Board shall be provided for the care and nurturing of pre-school age children. This leave cannot be used to transform a full time job into a part time job without the consent of the employer. b) Leave without pay which is for a period of more than three (3) months, granted under this clause, shall be deducted from the calculation of "continuous service" for the purpose of calculating severance pay and vacation leave for the employee involved.
