LEAVES OF ABSENCE - UNPAID. SECTION A - Child Care 1. A leave of absence of up to four (4) months shall be granted for the purpose of child care upon the request of the employee to care for a newborn, newly adopted, or critically ill child. The dates of the leave will be determined by mutual agreement between the employee and the Board or its designee. 2. An additional leave of absence of up to eight (8) months may be granted upon the request of the employee to care for a newborn, newly adopted, or critically ill child. The actual length of the additional leave will be determined by the board or its designee at the time the leave is approved.
