Common use of Length of Sabbatical Clause in Contracts

Length of Sabbatical. The sabbatical may be taken for one (1) semester or for one (1) full academic year. If a split sabbatical is desired, it must be requested at the time of application and may be canceled by mutual consent of the unit member and the District when requested for compelling personal reasons. Both periods of the split sabbatical are to be completely included within the span of three (3) consecutive academic years. Service rendered between the two (2) parts of a split sabbatical leave may be counted as a part of the service for a future sabbatical leave.
