Bonded Sabbatical Sample Clauses

A Bonded Sabbatical clause establishes the terms under which an employee may take an extended leave of absence, typically for personal or professional development, in exchange for a commitment to return to work for a specified period afterward. This clause often requires the employee to sign an agreement stating that if they do not return or leave before the agreed period, they must repay some or all of the compensation or benefits received during the sabbatical. Its core function is to balance the employer’s investment in the employee’s development with the assurance of continued service, thereby reducing the risk of losing valuable staff immediately after a sabbatical.
