Common use of Military Spouse Leave Clause in Contracts

Military Spouse Leave. Up to fifteen (15) business days of leave will be granted to a qualified nurse (nurse who averages 20 or more hours of work per week) whose spouse or registered domestic partner pursuant to Washington State Law is on leave from deployment or before and up to deployment during a period of military conflict. Any combination of leave without pay, compensatory time, vacation leave, sick leave and/or personal holiday may be used, at the nurse’s discretion. The nurse must provide KVH with notice of the nurse’s intention to take leave within five (5) business days of receiving official notice that the nurse’s spouse will be on leave or of an impending call to active duty.
