New Salary Rate. Employees who receive portability or benefits under Clause 29.01 shall be placed on the appropriate salary scale at their new place of employment in accordance with the following: (1) If the new position carries a pay range higher than that of the position just vacated, the employee shall be placed on the appropriate step of the new pay range in accordance with the promotion procedures as outlined in Clause 25.09. (2) If the new position carries a pay range equivalent to that of the position just vacated, the employee shall be placed on the same step of the equivalent pay range in accordance with the existing transfer procedures. (3) If the new position carries a pay range lower than that of the position just vacated, the employee shall be placed on the appropriate pay range of the new position in accordance with clause 40.02.
