Common use of Night Duty Clause in Contracts

Night Duty. B4.1.5(b)(i) The period of night duty to be worked by an employee must not exceed eight weeks in any six monthly period. These provisions may be varied by agreement with the employee and will not apply if the employee is required to perform duty to enable the nursing service to be carried on in an emergency or when another employee is absent from duty because of illness.

Hours worked in excess of 8 ordinary hours per shift are paid at overtime rates in accordance with clause 6.4.
