Common use of Notice of Absence Clause in Contracts

Notice of Absence. Employees are required to attend work regularly. When unable to attend, the employee must contact her immediate Manager or the individual otherwise specified by the Manager, personally or by voice mail, as far in advance as possible of her scheduled starting time and on a Sunday, the Duty Librarian a minimum of thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of her shift, giving the reason she is unable to attend work, the date of her expected return, and the details as to where she can be contacted during her absence. If the employee cannot contact her Manager she must advise the Employer as soon as possible with an explanation for the delay that is acceptable to the Employer. If requested, an employee must substantiate the reasons for the absence.
