Common use of Out of Town Allowances Clause in Contracts

Out of Town Allowances. The Employer shall arrange, assign and pay for out of town living accommodations that meet a suitable and reasonable standard. Double occupancy at an economy motel normally meets the standard. In addition, the Employer shall pay each employee a food allowance for each day that the employee is scheduled to work at a project that requires overnight accommodation. The allowance is paid for each day worked by the employee and for each day that work was scheduled but not performed due to circumstances outside the employee’s control, but excluding days not worked due to the illness or absence of the employee. The daily food allowance is $40.00. Effective January 1, 2020, this increases to $42.50 and January 1, 2021, this increases to $45.00.
