Common use of Paid Union Leave Clause in Contracts

Paid Union Leave. (a) Subject to operational requirements such as the Employer’s ability to obtain a replacement and at no additional cost in premium pay and provided the Nurse has given a minimum of four (4) weeks written advance notice of the request, the Employer shall grant leaves of absence without loss of regular pay and benefits for Nurses chosen to represent the Nurses’ Union at the Annual and/or Provincial Meetings: • Where the Employer is the South Shore District Health Authority - three (3) representatives, or • Where the Employer is the South West Nova District Health Authority - three (3) representatives, or • Where the Employer is the Annapolis Valley District Health Authority - three (3) representatives, or • Where the Employer is the Colchester East Hants Health Authority - three (3) representatives, or • Where the Employer is the Cumberland Health Authority - three (3) representatives, or • Where the Employer is the Pictou County Health Authority - three
