Patterns of Advancement. The following outline of advancement is an average profile to indicate what might be expected by librarians and archi- vists. It is not, however, a set pattern. Years Rank Classification 1 – 3 Assistant Librarian Probationary (Pre-Candidacy) 4 – 6 Assistant Librarian Probationary (Candidacy) 6 & on Associate Librarian Continuing Appointment 10 & on Senior Librarian Continuing Appointment Promotions and conferral of continuing appointments are effective the beginning of the next appointment year. Minimum time requirements for advancement or promotion are normally as follows: • From Pre-Candidacy to Candidacy — three years’ profes- sional experience including at least one year at York; • to Associate Librarian and Continuing Appointment — five yearsprofessional experience and at least one year at York; • to Senior Librarian — at least ten years’ professional experi- ence including two years of outstanding performance as an Associate Librarian at York. As stated above, continuing appointment is one of the most important relationships between a librarian and archivist and the University since it confers upon the librarian and archivist a continuing career appointment. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that a candidate who has been judged worthy of continuing appointment is normally worthy of being promoted to the rank of Associate Librarian. Neverthe- less, there may be exceptional cases in which promotion is warranted without the conferral of continuing appointment and in which continuing appointment may be granted but promotion to Associate Librarian delayed. In such exceptional cases, the Pre-Candidacy and Candidacy terms may be extended or delayed by one year to ensure a fair appraisal of a candidate for either promotion or continuing appointment. The circumstances under which such an exten- sion could occur may involve one or more of the following:

  • Step Advancement Each faculty member will be granted one (1) increment on the salary schedule each year up to the maximum allowed. To qualify for advancement one (1) step on the salary schedule, employees must have been employed in a paid status or on any form of medical leave (FMLA, CFRA, etc.), or on military leave seventy-five percent (75%) or more of the school days in a school year.

  • Career Advancement A) In order to attain Professional Teacher Status, the Educator should achieve ratings of proficient or exemplary on each Performance Standard and overall. A principal considering making an employment decision that would lead to PTS for any Educator who has not been rated proficient or exemplary on each performance standard and overall on the most recent evaluation shall confer with the superintendent by May 1. The principal’s decision is subject to review and approval by the superintendent.

  • Advancement In accordance with the pre-existing requirements of the Bylaws, and notwithstanding any provision of this Agreement to the contrary, the Corporation shall advance, to the extent not prohibited by applicable law, the Expenses reasonably incurred by Indemnitee in connection with any Proceeding, and such advancement shall be made within thirty (30) days after the receipt by the Corporation of a statement or statements requesting such advances from time to time, whether prior to or after final disposition of any Proceeding. Advances shall be unsecured and interest free. Advances shall be made without regard to Indemnitee’s ability to repay the Expenses and without regard to Indemnitee’s ultimate entitlement to indemnification under the other provisions of this Agreement. Advances shall include any and all Expenses reasonably incurred pursuing an action to enforce this right of advancement, including Expenses incurred preparing and forwarding statements to the Corporation to support the advances claimed. Indemnitee shall qualify for advances upon the execution and delivery to the Corporation of this Agreement, which shall constitute an undertaking providing that Indemnitee undertakes to repay the amounts advanced to the extent that it is ultimately determined that Indemnitee is not entitled to be indemnified by the Corporation. This Section 8 shall not apply to any claim made by Indemnitee for which indemnity is excluded pursuant to Section 7 hereof.

  • Repayment of Advances If the identity of the Servicer shall change, the predecessor Servicer shall be entitled to receive reimbursement for outstanding and unreimbursed Simple Interest Advances made pursuant to Section 4.4 by the predecessor Servicer.

  • Salary Advancement Assigned salary ranges normally contain 5 steps. Employees move through these steps on the basis of performance in the position hired/promoted into. Regular, full-time employees shall be eligible for salary step advancement consideration, as follows:

  • Salary Step Advancement No period of unpaid leave shall be counted toward time served for purposes of salary step advancement. Completion of at least 75% of the assigned work year for the employee in a paid status is a prerequisite to salary advancement.

  • Salary Schedule Advancement The base salaries in each cluster within a step may be increased through COLA, turnover savings, increments, and additional educational attainment. Once placed in a cluster within a step, faculty do not move from cluster to cluster except as described in B.3.B below.

  • Determinations of Director Pursuant to the Act and Section II of the Agreement and subject to the remaining terms and provisions of the Agreement and all Appendices thereto, the Director hereby determines that the financial assistance to be provided by the OPWC to the Recipient is in compliance with the Act and is provided to the Recipient for the sole and express purpose of financing the Eligible Project Cost and/or reimbursing the Recipient for such Eligible Project Cost.

  • Limitations of Use The Services and Atlantic Broadband Equipment, including any firmware or software embedded in Atlantic Broadband Equipment or used to provide the Services, are protected by trademark, copyright, and/or other intellectual property laws and international treaty provisions. You are granted a limited, non-sublicensable, non- transferable revocable license to use such firmware and software in object code form (without making any modification thereto) strictly in accordance with this Agreement. You acknowledge and understand that you are not granted any other license to use the firmware or software embedded in Atlantic Broadband Equipment or used to provide the Services. You expressly agree that you will use Atlantic Broadband Equipment exclusively in connection with the Services. You shall not reverse, compile, disassemble, or reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to derive the source code from the binary code of the firmware or software. If you decide to use the Services through an interface device not provided by Atlantic Broadband, which Atlantic Broadband reserves the right to prohibit in particular cases or generally, you warrant and represent that you possess all required rights to use that interface device with the Services, including all software and firmware licenses. You will indemnify and hold harmless Atlantic Broadband against any and all liability arising out of your use of such interface device with the Services.

  • Obligations of the Licensee 5.1.1. The Licensee’s Responsibilities and Duties shall include the following, in addition to and without prejudice to other obligations under this Agreement:
