Salary Schedule Advancement. The base salaries in each cluster within a step may be increased through COLA, turnover savings, increments, and additional educational attainment. Once placed in a cluster within a step, faculty do not move from cluster to cluster except as described in B.3.B below.
Salary Schedule Advancement a. A teacher shall be granted, at the time of hire, one step on the salary schedule for each full year of teaching experience up to the maximum of the established range. Expected range of salary steps will be identified and stated in postings for open positions. The ranges shall remain consistent for all postings within a given school year.

Teachers who plan to move to a higher column must register their additional hours or credits in the Human Resources Department during one of the four specified times each year by the 10th of the month following the end of a college quarter—by February 10, May 10, September 10, or November 10. Acceptable documents for this purpose include college or university transcripts, letters from college or university supervising department chairmen, and recommendations from committees approving projects in human relations and teaching field areas. Class grades must be “C” or better, or “Pass” on a pass/fail option. Upon presentation of appropriate documents, Request for Revision of Individual Certified Contract and documentation of credits, the district will issue a new contract showing teacher’s salary on the new column. It shall be the teacher’s responsibility to inform the Human Resources administrator in writing that advancement on the schedule has been earned. The district will not recognize audited courses for advancement on the salary schedule.
Salary Schedule Advancement. 1. For advancement on the salary schedule, the board will accept all college courses that are acceptable under the state guidelines for recertification. This includes pass/fail, undergraduate courses, and graduate courses educationally related to the professional development of the employee.

Experience increments cannot exceed the top step for a classification, except in Column VI, an employee may advance only one step vertically and one step horizontally in any one contract year. Column VI will increase by $535 for each year of service earned after the final step listed.

Any teacher who has worked 90 or more days of the school year shall be entitled to such advancement on the salary schedule as he/she would have had if the leave had not been granted. If the leave exceeds the year the leave commences, the second year shall not be considered for step advancement on the salary schedule.
Salary Schedule Advancement. 1. The certificated employee shall have the responsibility of providing all necessary official transcripts and certification to confirm any changes in classification on schedule.
Salary Schedule Advancement. During the duration of this Agreement advancement on any salary schedule shall be subject to the terms of this Agreement. In the event a successor Agreement is not entered into prior to the expiration of this Agreement, an employee shall be compensated according to the current rate until a successor Agreement is entered into.
Salary Schedule Advancement. Seniority Effect. A teacher shall not receive seniority credit or experience credit towards salary schedule advancement during the time in which the teacher is on an unpaid leave of absence. During the school year in which a leave commences or terminates, a teacher may be entitled to advancement on the salary schedule and may be afforded pro-rata seniority credit, provided the teacher has taught (i.e., actually attended and worked) at least ninety (90) workdays of the school term.
Salary Schedule Advancement. Only college credit from an accredited institution in a field of education, or which can reasonably be construed as enhancing the teacher’s competency or technique in the District, shall apply towards horizontal advancement on the salary schedule, providing the teacher has received approval from the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources or his/her designee. Movement to an advanced lane will be implemented one time per year, with the first pay period after submission and processing of appropriate paperwork, which must be submitted to Human Resources by September 30.
