Common use of Pay on Termination Clause in Contracts

Pay on Termination. When an Employee is laid off, voluntarily terminates or is discharged for just cause, payment by cheque (or electronic direct deposit) of all monies owing, including a printed confirmation of earnings and deductions and a Record of Employment shall be sent by mail to the Employee’s last known address on the next weeks regular pay day. Records of Employment for Employment Insurance purposes may, at the sole discretion of the Employer, be submitted electronically or by paper forms to Services Canada and in accordance with Service Canada requirements.
