Payroll Deduction for Association Dues. 1. The Board shall provide payroll deductions for Association dues in accordance with the following: a. Bargaining unit members shall submit written authorization for payroll deductions on a form provided by the Association to the Treasurer on or before October 1 of any year the bargaining unit member begins payroll deductions under this Agreement. Unless revoked or changed in accordance with the procedures contained herein, the authorization will continue from year to year. b. Authorized payroll deductions will be made in ten (10) equal installments beginning with the second payroll in October. c. By October 1 of each year, the Association will notify the Board's Treasurer as to the total amount of dues to be deducted per bargaining unit member. Such notification shall be in the form of a letter signed by the Association President or Treasurer. The Board's treasurer shall transmit all monies deducted within seven (7) days of the last deduction of the month. d. A bargaining unit member who wishes to change the method of payment of Association dues may do so between August 1 and September 10 of any year. It shall be the responsibility of the Association to inform bargaining unit members of this option prior to the end of each school year. It shall also be the responsibility of the Association to process any appropriate changes on revised authorization forms. All revised authorization forms must be submitted by the Association to the Treasurer by October 1 of each year. Unless changed in accordance with the procedures contained herein, the authorization will continue from year to year. 2. The Association agrees to save the Employer harmless with respect to the deduction made and paid to it in accordance with the provisions hereof, and in the event deduction shall be made which should not have been made. In such cases, the Association shall be responsible to return such monies to the employee or employees affected.

The Employer agrees to furnish the Association for each remittance a record of those employees for whom deductions have been made, together with the amount deducted and remitted for each employee. G. The Employer's sole obligation under this Section is limited to deduction of dues. Payroll Deduction for Association Dues. 1The parties recognize that union membership and service fees as a term and condition of employment are not permitted under the law as of the execution of this agreement. The Board Employer agrees that membership in MNA is a matter between the employee and MNA and shall provide payroll deductions for remain neutral in regards to an employee’s choice to become and/or remain a member. The Employer shall not in any way, discourage or encourage membership. The Employer agrees to continue to deduct Union dues from bargaining unit members who are members of MNA and having dues deducted prior to the execution of this agreement. For all other bargaining unit employees, the Employer agrees, upon receipt of an executed membership application, to deduct Union dues from their pay. Once started, the Employer will only stop deduction of dues upon receiving notice from MNA to do so in accordance with their practices and the law.
