Per Diem Employee. An employee employed to work on an intermittent basis or to supplement the regular work force on a scheduled or unscheduled basis to provide coverage for emergencies, employee, absenteeism or other unexpected events after full-time and part-time employees are scheduled for their assigned FTE. Per Diem employees must as a condition of employment agree to work with sufficient frequency to maintain the skills of their position and to meet the needs of their work unit as determined by the Employer.
