Academic Staff Up to and over 1 year 26 weeks General Staff Up to 1 year 1 week 306 Except as provided for in clause 307, the University may terminate the employment of a member of Academic or General staff by giving the following period of written notice: Over 5 years 4 weeks* Note: Notice requirements for English language teaching staff are set out in Schedule 5. 307 A staff member’s employment may be terminated by the University at any time without notice if the staff member engages in Serious Misconduct, subject to the right of review provided for in clause 253, where applicable. 309 A Management & Staff Consultative Committee (M&SCC) will be convened to provide a forum for consultation between the University and the Unions on matters pertaining to the employment of staff including the matters listed in clause 312. In addition to the matters relevant to all staff, the M&SCC will address issues specifically relevant to Academic and General staff. A separate Consultative Committee will be convened under Schedule 5 to address CET specific issues.
