Common use of Personal Necessity/Personal Leave Clause in Contracts

Personal Necessity/Personal Leave. A member of the bargaining unit may, at his/her election, designate up to a maximum of six (6) days of contract sick leave in any given fiscal year to be used in case of compelling personal importance. A notification of the use of such leave shall be made in writing by the unit member to the Xxxx in the appropriate service area and, when possible, shall be made at least one (1) week in advance. When notification in advance is not possible, notice shall be provided to the appropriate Xxxx as soon as practicable. (Ed. The unit member must notify his/her Department Chair or supervising administrator in advance of the intent to reschedule these hours and post such changes in advance on his/her office hour schedule for public viewing. If such rescheduled office hours are held, then the unit member will not be charged for missing those hours.
