Pet Insurance. All buyers are recommended to purchase canine health insurance. If you are in an area of high cost of vet care in areas such as living on the east coast or west coast or other high cost of living areas, then you must buy pet insurance to purchase one of our puppies. This will be decided on a case by case basis. We will call your vet to get some estimates on routine procedures to determine if this is required by you. We recommend Healthy Paws but you can buy from any carrier. We found them to have the best coverage. The buyer must go online to seller’s website: xxx.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx and read and follow the puppy care guide. Puppies are sold as pets and buyer must agree to neuter the male dog by 12 months or spay females by nine months of age. Exceptions can be made if pup is undersized at that age but must be reported to seller. Tubal ligation or vasectomy is also an option for sterilization if you are uncomfortable with spay/neuter. Any dog not sterilized by the above ages, will void this health guarantee in full. Any pet purchased that is not sterilized and is found to be used for breeding will be in breach of this contract and is punishable by law and you will be required to pay for breeding rights, which is double the puppy price plus $5000 for breach of contract. We will not risk the puppies health by giving breeding rights to inexperienced pet owners. If for any reason you need to rehome your puppy, you MUST contact Prairie Hill Puppies first! Puppies can NOT be surrendered to an animal shelter for any reason. Pup can not be resold without the authorization of PHP. We will help you rehome your puppy. We understand that life changing events may make this necessary. Seller will do all that is required for up to date on vaccinations and deworming protocols but seller can not warrant against common puppy conditions such as hypoglycemia(low blood sugar from not eating), cold/kennel cough, allergies, mites, worms or protozoan type parasites (i.e. coccidia or giardia) ; nor genetic conditions that are not deemed life threatening. PARVO: If your vet starts your puppy over on its vaccinations, this will void your health guarantee and is considered to be OVER vaccinating and very harmful for it’s immune system and can cause long term health issues. A puppy needs to be 2 weeks past it’s fourth Parvo booster to be fully protected from parvo and a once a year booster. After this, you can have your vet draw blood and check the titer to see if they even need mor...

Pet Insurance. Healthy Paws and Trupanion Pet Insurance: Most accidents happen in the first 30 days in a puppy’s new home. Our program requires that our Buyers activate pet insurance to reimburse a portion of unforeseen medical expenses covered by the policies. Buyers will receive a certificate for 30 days of FREE Trupanion pet insurance. Buyer must activate coverage 24 hours prior to transfer of possession of the new puppy. Failure to sign up the puppy for the free insurance coverage will void the health guarantees, including the First 48-hour health guarantee. Buyer will be given a discount code for Healthy Paws. LCS recommends Healthy Paws for long-term pet insurance. We encourage Buyers to register the puppy for both policies 24 hours before transfer of possession of puppy. After the free 30 days of coverage expires with Trupanion, then Buyer can drop the policy with Trupanion and continue coverage with Healthy Paws. Healthy Paws has a 30-day waiting period which is why we recommend the dual enrollment. Trupanion has no waiting period and the first 30 days is free of charge. Dual enrollment ensures no lapse in coverage. HEARTWORM PREVENTION: Monthly heartworm prevention is required as part of our recommended health protocol. Failure to give heartworm prevention every 30 days will void our 24-month health guarantee. Heartworms are transmitted by the bite of an infected mosquito. A heartworm infestation can be fatal. LCS recommends basic HeartGard for heartworm prevention.
