Common use of Policy/Group Grievance Clause in Contracts

Policy/Group Grievance. Where a dispute involving a question of general application or interpretation (Policy Grievance) occurs, or where a group of employees have a grievance (Group Grievance), Step 1 of this clause may be bypassed and proceed directly to Step 2 (two). Replies to grievances shall be in writing at all stages. Any award made as a result of a settlement of a grievance shall be made effective as of the date the dispute arose or allegation was made.
