Positions outside the Bargaining Unit. (a) An employee who substitutes temporarily in a position outside the bargaining unit shall be covered by the collective agreement for the duration of the assignment. Bargaining unit employees shall be given the first opportunity to fill the resulting vacancy. (b) An employee who accepts a promotion with the Employer to a permanent position outside the bargaining unit and who is returned to the bargaining unit within three (3) months shall be given credit for all seniority and service accrued while outside the bargaining unit plus all seniority and service accrued in the bargaining unit prior to the promotion. Should the employee return to the bargaining unit, all other employee(s) shall revert to their previous positions. (c) An employee who accepts a transfer under (a) above will not be required to pay union dues for any complete calendar month during which no bargaining unit work is performed.
