Posting of Temporary Vacancies and Positions of a Temporary Nature‌ i) In the event of a temporary vacancy in excess of eight (8) weeks that the Employer wishes to fill or in the event of the Employer establishing a position of a temporary nature that will exist for more than eight (8) weeks, that vacancy (position #1) will be posted in the normal manner. ii) Should a regular employee be the successful applicant for position #1, that employee's job (position #2) shall be posted temporarily. Should a regular employee be the successful applicant for position #2, that employee's job (position #3) shall not be posted. Position #3 shall be available to employees with the required qualifications, fitness and ability on layoff first, then to such temporary employees with seniority. iii) If the posted temporary position again becomes vacant within thirty (30) days of the successful applicant commencing work, the next most senior person with the required qualifications, fitness and ability that had originally bid on the temporary position will be awarded the vacancy. In the event there is no other applicant with the required qualifications, fitness and ability who had originally bid on the position then the Employer may fill without posting. iv) At the end of the temporary position, unless the former position has been eliminated or reduced in hours, the regular employees shall return to their former positions. There are no bumping rights at the end of temporary postings. v) Employees in temporary positions will be required to complete their temporary positions before being eligible for an appointment to a subsequent temporary position. All employees may apply for a regular position at any time.

  • Temporary Vacancies The Company and the Union recognize that temporary employees may be required to temporarily provide additional manpower due to vacation, weekly indemnity, excess of work, etc. All temporary employees performing bargaining unit work are members of the bargaining unit and as such all terms and conditions of the collective agreement apply except as herein provided. Individuals may be hired to fill temporary vacancies. Temporary vacancies and employees shall last a maximum of eight (8) calendar weeks. This does not prevent the Company and the Union from mutually agreeing to extend the eight (8) week limitation on an individual basis. However, unless there is written agreement to the contrary, the eight (8) calendar week limitation shall be respected. Should the position be made permanent, the job will be posted as per 9.07(e). Any skills or experience gained by the temporary employee while in the temporary job, shall not be used to determine him more suitable for the position than the employee with seniority who applies. Prior to any layoff all temporary employees will be terminated. Overtime will only be offered to temporary employees after all qualified senior and probationary employees within the classification concerned have refused. Public holidays will be paid to the temporary employees as per the Employment Standards Act Part X (10). Temporary employees will be hired for the applicable classification and wage rate as per Appendix A of the Collective Agreement. Should a temporary employee apply for a job posting and be successful as per Article 9.07 of the Collective Agreement the temporary employee shall then become a probationary employee. The seniority date of a temporary employee who is awarded a full-time position will equal the date the full-time position is awarded. No person, who is or has been employed by the Company outside of the bargaining unit, shall be eligible to work as a temporary employee within the bargaining unit, unless his record of employment with the Company has been severed in excess of one week.

  • Posting of Positions Notice of any opening for a promotional position shall be posted in all schools and departments by the Division of Human Resources & Equity.

  • Vacancy Posting ‌ If a regular employee is absent from his/her position for more than 24 months as a result of medical leave, such position will be posted in accordance with the provision of Article 12. Upon return to work the regular employee shall be returned to work to a position of equal rank and basic pay.

  • Posting of Vacancies Before any vacancy is posted, any displaced teacher with proper certification shall fill said vacancy. Vacancies shall be posted in accordance with the following: A. Vacancies occurring between the end of the school year and August 5 shall be posted in accordance with the following provisions: 1. The Superintendent will prepare lists of vacancies to be posted and filled. Such posting shall occur within five (5) workdays of the date the vacancy is known. 2. Applications for vacancies shall be submitted to the Superintendent within five (5) workdays of the date which appears on the posting. A copy of all postings will be given to the NEA President. Employees shall be notified of any openings via their work email and posted on the district’s website. 3. Each notice of vacancy shall clearly set forth the title of the position, qualifications for the position, grade level (if known), duties, salary, procedure for application, the deadline for submitting the application, and the person to whom the application is to be submitted. The notice is subject to change as the needs of the school system change, but any change shall result in the reposting of the position(s) unless otherwise mutually agreed upon by the Superintendent and NEA President. 4. All vacancies and assignments are subject to change due to decrease in enrollment, reassignment of students, and/or school closings. 5. The position shall be filled no later than ten (10) workdays after the posting period. This shall apply when the position is being filled by an employee. B. Existing position(s) that become vacant after the August Board Meeting shall be awarded to the most senior bargaining unit member who is on the recall list, provided he/she possesses the proper certification/licensure, if comparable evaluations. Evaluation ratings shall be the determining factor governing the selection of the recalled employee. They shall remain in the position for the school year, or whatever portion of the year is remaining. 1. Any bargaining unit member on the recall list who possesses the proper certification/licensure for the vacancy and who is offered a position after the start of the school year and declines the position will not lose his/her recall rights. 2. The Board may, absent a properly certified/licensed individual on the recall list, or if there is a properly certified/licensed individual on the recall list who declines the position after the start of the school year, hire a new employee or a substitute to fill the vacancy for the school year, or whatever portion of the year remains. C. Vacancies that are filled under the provisions of Section 6.032 B of the Agreement shall be posted for the ensuing school year no later than April 15 of each school year unless extenuating circumstances arise in which the posting will be made as soon as practicable. The posting(s) shall adhere to the provisions set forth in Section 6.032 A. 2. through A. 5. of the Agreement. D. For all newly created positions while schools are in session the following shall apply: 1. The Superintendent will prepare lists of vacancies to be posted and filled in all schools as such vacancies occur. Such posting shall occur within five (5) workdays of the date the vacancy is known. 2. While schools are in session, all vacancies shall be posted in all buildings for a period of five (5) workdays. 3.   • Temporary Positions A) The Employer may create regular temporary positions for vacation relief for more than one (1) incumbent for up to six (6) months duration. B) The Employer may create regular temporary project positions (i.e. grant funded, capital projects, pilot projects, or term specific assignments) for up to twelve (12) months’ duration. These positions are not renewable after the end date of the project, unless the Union and Employer agree to renew/extend the time limits.   • Posting of Seniority List The Administration shall post the seniority list twice annually by October 1 and March 1 of each work year. The seniority list shall be posted on the designated bulletin board in each building/work site and will indicate, by area of certification, license, or entry-level requirement, the first day worked, the date of Board resolution to hire, and the contract status (limited or continuing) of each employee. Said list shall be provided by the Superintendent to the Association President on or before the date of posting. A. The name of employees on the seniority list shall appear in seniority rank order within areas of certification, license, or entry-level requirements, with the name of the most senior employee appearing at the top of the listing and the name of the least senior employee appearing at the bottom of the listing. B. The names of employees who are certificated, licensed, or otherwise minimally qualified in more than one (1) area shall be included on the listing for all areas of certification, license, or entry-level requirement. C. The names of part-time employees shall appear on the seniority list but shall be listed separately from the names of full-time employees.

  • Filling of Positions A. PERMANENT POSITIONS 1. A permanent position is a position expected to last for more than three (3) months, except a permanent position shall not be created for pregnancy leave, medical leave, or other approved leave. A permanent position may be either full-time or part-time. When the Company determines that there should be a new permanent position or that a vacated permanent position should be filled it will announce such position for bid. The announcement shall state the domicile, number of positions available, their effective date and be posted via CrewTrac message to all Flight Attendants and in each domicile crew lounge for a period of no fewer than seven (7) calendar days. 2. Flight Attendants shall be allowed to submit a permanent bid and shall have the right to change their permanent bid any time prior to the vacancy bid closing. The Company shall establish guidelines under which bid forms are to be completed. An On-line permanent bid form will be made available to the Flight Attendants. The on-line form may be submitted at any time and will remain on file with the Company until it is requested to be removed or changed by the Flight Attendant. 3. When a part-time Flight Attendant position is available, full-time Flight Attendants shall be provided the opportunity to transfer to such positions in system seniority order prior to the Company hiring an external applicant. When a full-time Flight Attendant position becomes available, part-time Flight Attendants shall be permitted to transfer to such position in system seniority order prior to the hiring of an external applicant. 4. The Company will award permanent positions from the Permanent bid file, in system seniority order. If there are insufficient bidders, the Company may assign positions in reverse seniority order or assign them to newly hired Flight Attendants. Awards/assignments shall usually be posted in two (2) business days, but no later than five

  • Posting and Filling of Vacancies 8.1(1) When a permanent vacancy occurs within a classification covered by this agreement, which the Employer intends to fill, after the Employer applies the internal job transfer bidding procedure and the ultimate vacancy is thereby identified, such vacancy shall be advertised for ten (10) calendar days provided that nothing herein shall prevent the Employer from advertising such vacancy throughout its system or outside during the ten (10) day period. Probationary employees may, at the sole discretion of the Employer, be considered for another position outside their classification after the signing date of this agreement. The Company reserves the sole and absolute right to carry out any applicable interviewing or testing that is necessary in its opinion. All test processes will be approved by qualified Human Resources staff. An employee will only be allowed to take one test failure for each different job classification bid every four (4) months. Current employees applying for positions which involve increased driving responsibilities must meet corporate driving standards and provide with application a current driving abstract. The opinion of the Employer shall not be exercised in an arbitrary or discriminatory manner. 8.1(2) Internal Job Transfer Bidding Procedure 8.1(3) This internal job transfer bidding procedure is within a given classification as follows: 8.1(4) All employees within each classification, when requested, must submit a “standing application” to transfer to any existing alternate home base or location, shift, shift hours, days off (in order of preference), to transfer from part-time to full-time status, or to indicate that they wish no change, whichever is applicable to each individual within their current classification. 8.1(5) A copy of such standing application submitted will be furnished to the employee. Since a standing application will remain valid indefinitely until it results in action or is replaced by the employee, it is the responsibility of the employee to ensure that a standing application always reflects the employee’s current preferences. 8.1(6) (i) When a permanent classification position vacancy is to be filled, all standing applications will immediately be reviewed with the intention of awarding transfers (including any “resultant” transfers) in order of classification seniority in the following sequence, where applicable: (a) transfer of a full-time employee from one home base or location to another or as referred to above; (b) transfer of an employee from part-time to full- time status; (c) transfer of part-time employees from one home base or location to another or as referred to above; and (d) transfer of full-time employees to part-time.

  • Time Off for Meetings Any representative of the Union on this Committee, or their alternate, who is in the employ of the Employer, shall have the privilege of attending meetings of the Committee held within working hours without loss of remuneration, provided that the Senior Administrator has prior notice.
