Probationary Period - New Employees. All new employees and those hired after loss of seniority shall be considered probationary employees until they complete a probationary period of one (1) year. During this probationary period the employee shall not be represented by the Union as regards to discipline or discharge of the employee, but is eligible to be a member of the Union after ninety (90) days of employment. The probationary period is to be used to test further the ability of the employee to perform the required duties of the position successfully. If the employee fails to meet the required standards of performance, he may be dismissed.
