Probationary Period - New Employees. ‌ All new officers shall be considered probationary employees until they complete a probationary period of one (1) year. The probationary period is to be used to test further the ability of the employee to perform the required duties of the position successfully. If the employee fails to maintain adequate performance evaluations during this period or otherwise displays any trait or conduct which would not be in the best interests of law enforcement, he may be dismissed.
