Professional Conventions and Meetings. Entire section does not apply to Per Diems except those who have worked greater than 1040 hours in the previous calendar year. A. Employees shall be granted three (3) days off without loss of pay each fiscal year to attend their professional organization’s conventions or other professional meetings, institutes, seminars, and workshops regardless of sponsorship, or to attend certification preparation courses, or to take a professional certification examination as outlined in Section 5, above, related to the advancement of the employee’s professional development. Employees scheduled to work a night shift on the calendar day immediately preceding attendance at their professional organization’s conventions, professional meetings, institutes, seminars, and workshops shall be granted that shift off, without loss of pay. The employee shall request approval to attend such conventions or meetings from the Employer at least thirty (30) calendar days in advance, whenever possible. Such approval shall be granted if it is not in conflict with staffing or scheduling needs and does not require overtime. B. Whenever the Employer directs employees to represent it at conventions, committees, seminars, or meetings, such attendance shall be without loss of pay and at the Employer’s expense. C. At the Employer’s discretion, additional time off with or without pay may be granted for attendance at conventions or other professional meetings.

  • Conferences and Meetings Attend meetings with Contractor, such as preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, job conferences and other project-related meetings, and prepare and circulate copies of minutes thereof.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.

  • Composition and Meetings The Committee shall be comprised of equal number of representatives of the hospital and from the Union. The number of representatives is to be determined locally, and shall consist of at least two representatives from each party. Meetings of the Committee shall be held during normal working hours. To allow the Labour Adjustment Committee to carry out its mandated role under this Article, the Hospital will provide the Committee with pertinent financial and staffing information and with a copy of any reorganization plans which impact on the bargaining unit. The Committee shall submit its written recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer of the Hospital and the Board of Trustees. Where there is no consensus within the Committee, the individual members of the committee shall be entitled to submit their own recommendations. Any agreement between the Hospital and the Union resulting from the above review concerning the method of implementation will take precedence over the other provisions of this agreement.
