Professional Development and Training Committee. A Professional Development and Training Committee co-chaired by the UFSPA president or designee and the Superintendent or designee, and including the UFSPA vice-president or designee and one (1) additional administrator to be selected by the Superintendent or designee shall meet at least quarterly for the purpose of developing and implementing professional development and training recommendations and opportunities for bargaining unit members. The committee will consider the needs, interests and priorities of the bargaining unit members, Association, Board of Education, and Administration when developing and implementing professional development and training programs for school improvement days, institute days, professional learning community/late-start days (at least three (3) per year), and other opportunities throughout the year. The committee shall work collaboratively and through consensus rather than collective bargaining in order to develop a recommendation and plan that includes, but is not limited to, dates and times, locations, trainers, content, and materials.

Upon the ratification of this Agreement, the parties agree to form a joint Professional Development and Training Committee to study, discuss and develop recommendations to increase the number and type of professional development and training opportunities available to Lieutenants to enhance their qualifications for promotions within the Department.
