Professional Development and Training Committee. A Professional Development and Training Committee co-chaired by the UFSPA president or designee and the Superintendent or designee, and including the UFSPA vice-president or designee and one (1) additional administrator to be selected by the Superintendent or designee shall meet at least quarterly for the purpose of developing and implementing professional development and training recommendations and opportunities for bargaining unit members. The committee will consider the needs, interests and priorities of the bargaining unit members, Association, Board of Education, and Administration when developing and implementing professional development and training programs for school improvement days, institute days, professional learning community/late-start days (at least three (3) per year), and other opportunities throughout the year. The committee shall work collaboratively and through consensus rather than collective bargaining in order to develop a recommendation and plan that includes, but is not limited to, dates and times, locations, trainers, content, and materials.

  • Professional Development and Training 4.1 The purpose of professional development and training requirements for interpreters is to maintain the skill levels interpreters possess at the time they pass their interpreter certification examination, and to further enhance their skills and knowledge. Both the State and the Union encourage interpreters to complete training and continuing education activities.

As a self-regulating profession, nursing recognizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic practice environment which includes ongoing learning, the maintenance of competence, career development, career counselling and succession planning.   • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT A. The Board agrees to implement the following:

  • Professional Development Funds 23.1.1 Two Professional Development Funds, a Professional Development Support Fund and an Education Leave Fund, shall be established to support professional development activities as defined in 23.2. On April 1st of each year, the College will allocate an amount equal to no less than 0.9% of total faculty salary (exclusive of severance payments) to the Professional Development Support Fund, and an amount equal to no less than 0.6% of total faculty salary to the Educational Leave Fund. Any unused balances in these funds shall carry over to the next budget year.
