Professional Learning Community. 1. Sixty (60) minutes per week, divided into a minimum of thirty (30) minute blocks, will be dedicated to the work of professional learning communities (“PLC”). The collaboration of teams shall cover PLC work, the continuous improvement plans for the building (“CIP”), and the strategic (or long-range plan) of the district. PLC time shall not be considered planning time under the terms of this Agreement.
2. At the Pre-K-3 level, the Administration may schedule districtwide grade-level or content-level meetings once per month. The elementary day will be adjusted to 8:00
a. m. to 4:00 p.m. for that day. This sixty (60) minute meeting will satisfy the weekly sixty (60) minute PLC meeting requirement for that week. Teachers will be provided with travel time when meetings are held away from their home school.

I understand that the vision for faculty at Xxxx & Xxxxx Xxxxxx Investment School is to build and sustain a Professional Learning Community that will improve the quality of all teaching and learning at the school; increase collaboration, transparency, and shared accountability amongst Staff; and contribute to a school-wide culture of excellence and high expectations for all students and all adults. I commit to positive and active engagement in all aspects of the Professional Learning Community at Xxxx & Xxxxx Xxxxxx Investment School, including: professional development workshops and/or conferences; in-classroom coaching; development of and commitment to professional growth plans; common planning across grade levels and/or subject areas; and frequent collegial collaborations and/or observations. Cambium and CMSD are deeply appreciative of all educators and staff who wish to contribute to the success of Xxxx & Xxxxx Xxxxxx Investment School. Please know that the following will be required of Xxxx & Xxxxx Xxxxxx Investment School’s faculty, staff and administrators during the 2013-2014 school year: - Participation in two to three days of professional development immediately prior to the start of school (scheduled professional development days are included in this count); - Participation in one 30-minute staff meeting or professional development per week to be scheduled during the end- of-day 40-minute block (again, exact requirements may vary by content area but will not exceed this amount); - Demonstrated understanding of school goals and your role in helping the school achieve these goals; - Read communication from administrators on the day it is sent; - Read and update the school-wide calendar on a daily basis; - Ask for and give help as needed to help accelerate the rate of student achievement; - Learn and lead as needed to help accelerate the rate of student achievement; - Work cooperatively with administrators, teacher leaders and the lead partner; - Recognize that school personnel and teacher leaders will be assuming responsibility for tasks completed by the lead partner as new structures and protocols are established; - Serve as a team member and contribute to the school’s overall problem solving and improvement efforts. Professional Learning Community. 1. A Building Leadership Team (BLT) will be formed in each building consisting of representatives from each grade level or department.
2. The District Leadership Team (DLT) shall be formed consisting of representatives from each BLT.
3. The BLT and DLT shall follow the PLC format and shall operate by consensus.
4. The DLT shall discuss and consider what inservice needs the District and buildings have. The DLT shall make recommendations regarding topics and speakers for inservice.
5. Committee members shall be appointed by mutual agreement of the CFEA President and the Superintendent.

For middle and high school, sixty (60) minutes per week, divided into a minimum of thirty (30) minute blocks, will be dedicated to the work of professional learning communities (“PLC”). The collaboration of teams shall cover PLC work, the continuous improvement plans for the building (“CIP”), and the strategic (or long- range plan) of the district. PLC time shall not be considered planning time under the terms of this Agreement.
2. At the Pre-K-5 level, the Administration may schedule one administratively- directed grade-level or content-level meetings once per week for no greater than 50 minutes. In addition, thirty (30) minutes of administratively-directed PLC time within the teacher day can be used once per month when needed.
Professional Learning Community. The parties recognize the importance of professional learning for teachers. Involvement in Professional Learning Communities shall be voluntary and not used in a TPA.
