Institute Days. ESPs shall not be required to attend District institute days, but may be requested to attend on an as-needed basis. When an ESP attends an institute day at the request of the District administration, such ESP will be compensated at his/her regular rate of pay. An ESP whose attendance is not requested at an institute day may elect to receive compensation for that day by utilizing his/her available personal leave/non-medical emergency leave.
Institute Days. The registration time for District institute days shall not begin earlier than 8:15 a.m.
Institute Days. Ten (10) month employees (Instructional Technology Assistants, Paraprofessionals and Teacher Assistants) shall report for work on selected scheduled teacher institute days. Employees will perform duties assigned by their supervisor or attend in-service training sessions as directed by the Administration. • For the duration of this contract, if the district is using the ISBE calendar waiver for professional development days, ten (10) month employees (Instructional Technology Assistants, Paraprofessionals and Teacher Assistants) will receive five (5) hours of professional development training on an institute day date set by administration. In order to receive pay for these five (5) hours, the employee must be in attendance or provide a doctor’s note for the absence.
Institute Days. Institute days are workdays per individual employee calendars.
Institute Days. 1. When possible, Institute Days will be scheduled at the end of the second and fourth quarters with at least two (2) hours of the Teacher day devoted to teacher record keeping.
2. At the end of the first and third quarters, one (1) school day shall be shortened in accordance with the state minimum school day per the Illinois School Code, and the remaining time used for Teacher record keeping.
3. When Institute Days are not scheduled at the semester and end of the year, the above paragraph shall apply to these times as well.
Institute Days. The three (3) or four (4) legal Institute days and four (4) half-day Workshops may be utilized to implement curriculum improvement, provide in-service training workshops, departmental meetings, etc., pending final approval by the Superintendent of Public Instruction of the State of Illinois and the District In- Service Institute Planning Committee, made up of two (2) teachers and two (2) administrators. Teachers shall participate in planning schedules and class membership within each school building with their respective principal. Final decision on said schedules rests with the Administration.
Institute Days. District 308 will have up to four (4) Institute Days each school year. Each Institute Day will be a five (5) hour work day, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Institute Days must focus on professional educational experiences for Teachers to maintain licensure. U. NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFICATION Teachers who earn National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Certification will receive a supplemental salary increase stipend in accordance with schedule C for the duration of their certification. National licenses do not qualify for this stipend. National Board Certification must be provided to the Department of Human Resources to receive the stipend. Stipends will be distributed evenly at the end of each semester. In addition, the Board will award up to nine (9) credit hours upon successful completion of National Board Certification. An official transcript must be received in the Department of Human Resources in order to receive this credit.
Institute Days. All teachers, including part-time teachers and job sharers, shall attend every institute day in its entirety.
Institute Days a. Beginning of the Year Institute Days All 9 month ESP staff are required to attend the beginning of the year institute days when training is made available by administration. Pay is for time worked.
b. All Other Institute Days Attendance at all other institute days is optional for all 9 month ESP staff. Pay is for time worked.
c. School Improvement Days Attendance during these days is recommended for all 9 month ESP staff unless there is a compelling reason not to attend. Pay is for time worked.
d. Because of the need to provide various services throughout the school district during the first Institute Day(s), the administration may require that certain employees who would otherwise be in attendance at Institute Day(s) work at their regular assignments, for all or a portion of the Institute Day(s). Where more than one employee performs a necessary service, such assignments may be rotated among the incumbents in that position. Employees shall be paid their regular rate of pay for such work, and shall not also receive pay for portions of the Institute Day(s) which they do not attend.
e. If staff choose to leave early on any of the days as stated in Article VI.A.3., unless a staff member is sick, sick time cannot be used to make up for time not worked.
f. In all cases, on all days that staff are not required to be in attendance, if staff choose to leave early or not attend at all, it is not counted against their attendance bonus.
Institute Days. The work calendar for Aides shall reflect any scheduled Institute Days that are required attendance for Aides. It is agreed that, at a minimum, the second Institute Day shall be required attendance for Aides, and that, during such day, Aides shall be included in any building or district-wide presentation. For the remainder of the day, Aides may be required to complete training tutorials or other responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor. An Aide shall be compensated at his/her regular hourly rate for any hours of required attendance at an Institute Day.
