Where the ability, qualifications and knowledge of the applicants are relatively equal, the senior applicant will be the successful candidate. (ii) For all other classifications, where the ability, qualifications and knowledge are sufficient to perform the functions of the posted position, the senior applicant shall be appointed. c) If the position is not filled by a Regular Employee in (i) or (ii) above, the ability and qualifications of Casual, Temporary and Seasonal Employees shall be considered, and if relatively equal, the senior applicant as determined in Article 10.05 shall be appointed. d) If the position is not filled by an Employee in b (i), (ii), or c) above, all other applicants shall be considered.

In such case, the local Union office shall be advised of such appointment. In the event there are not applicants with the service noted in this clause, then applicants would receive appointment on the following basis: firstly, Head Caretakers based on seniority; secondly, the senior applicant, provided the applicant's previous employment with the Division, qualifications and ability merit such action. 13.06 All employees appointed to the position of Chief Caretaker of a school subsequent to January 1, 1975, will have satisfactorily served the Employer Division as either an Assistant Chief Caretaker or as a Head Caretaker of a school and will be the holder of a valid fourth class power engineer's certificate or better. 13.07 The Division will inform the Union of all changes in classification of employees affected by the Agreement at least two (2) weeks before the effective date of such changes. 13.08 In applying the provisions of Article 13.03, the Division may make such transfer of employees as deemed desirable in the bargaining unit (i) For classifications required by their job description to supervise other interest of efficiency from employees in the bargaining unit listed in XXX#4same classification and on the same salary schedule, appointments, promotions, demotions, and with the provision that the Division shall notify the Union prior to making any permanent transfer. (ii) Such qualifications All employees looking to change classifications will be required to pre-qualify with the appropriate department manager. (iii) Certified Education Assistants who secure positions of 20 hours per week or less at the June posting meeting will be offered, in order of seniority, the opportunity to fill a full-time position, should one become available between September and December. For the initial recall of Certified Education Assistants in September the Employer will post notice of the positions for a minimum of 24 hours prior to the recall process. (c) Such notice shall reflect not be gender specific unless by prior agreement with the contents union. PROMOTIONS AND STAFF CHANGES. 11.01 Job Postings (a) Prior to filling any staff changes (including new positions) or promotions, covered by the terms of this Agreement, the Board shall notify the Union, in writing, of the position open. When a vacancy occurs jobs are vacated or a new position is created for a regular position which the Employer has decided to fill it Board receives notice of pending vacancies, the Board shall post such positions within 10 days or advise the Union of their intentions regarding the position(s). Copies of the job posting will be posted on the District webpage and emailed to each school/work site for posting on the bulletin board. In order that all members will know about the position and be able to make written application, therefore, the closing date of such applications will be not sooner than five (5) working days from date of mailing.
