Common use of Public Office Clause in Contracts

Public Office. An employee, who is elected to Federal or Provincial Office, and, who is required to be absent from work because of his/her elected duties, shall, upon written application to the Executive Director, be granted sufficient time on leave of absence to comply with his/her duties. Seniority shall not accumulate during such leave.

Public Office. An employee, employee who is elected or appointed to Federal Federal, Provincial, Municipal or Provincial Regional Municipal Office, and, who is required to be absent from work because of his/her their elected duties, or appointed duties shall, upon written application to the Executive DirectorEmployer, be granted sufficient time on leave of absence without pay to comply with his/her their duties. Seniority shall not accumulate be frozen and retained as the date that the leave commenced. It shall become the responsibility of the employee for full payment of any applicable benefits in which the employee is participating during such leaveleave of absence.
