Qualifying Employment Period for Pregnancy and Parental Leave. A teacher who has been employed by the Board for a period of thirteen weeks will be eligible for pregnancy/parental (adoption) leave as prescribed in the Employment Standards Act. At the request of the teacher and with the approval of the Board, pregnancy and parental leave may begin earlier or later than the term prescribed in the Employment Standards Act so as to coincide with the beginning or ending of the school term.
