RACE RELATIONS. 37.1 The Board and the Association do not condone and shall not tolerate any expression of racism.
37.2 Any written allegation of racism made by a member of the Association shall be jointly investigated by the Superintendent and the President of the Association for report to both parties.
RACE RELATIONS. 1. The Board and the Association oppose and condemn all forms of racism and prejudice.
2. Any written allegation that accuses an employee of racism in the course of performing his/her duties will be investigated by the Superintendent or designate and the results will be reported to the employee and the Association.
3. The Board agrees to involve representatives of the Association in any further development of policy on race relations.
RACE RELATIONS. E.27.1 The Board will not condone or tolerate any expression of racism. Any written allegation of racism within the district will be dealt with in the same manner as Article E.2 on Harassment.
RACE RELATIONS. The Board and the Association recognize the right of all teachers to work in an environment that promotes positive human interactions which are free from the divisive attitudes based upon race, ethnic background, and place of origin.

E.27.2. Any written allegation of racism by an employee within the school district will be investigated by the Superintendent or the designate and the results will be reported to the Board.
E.27.3. The administrative officer and school staff representative are encouraged to bring this matter to the attention of staff at the first staff meeting of the school year.
E.27.4. The parties recognize their mutual responsibility to provide the best educational services to the students in the district. The parties also recognize the need to hire the best person for each position to provide this service. One of the factors that may be considered when hiring the best person for the position is the cultural and mosaic make up of the community.

RACE RELATIONS. 1. The Board and the Local agree that all personnel employed by School District #87 (Stikine) work with students to encourage and create a continuing atmosphere of racial and ethnic harmony both inside and outside the school community.
2. The Board and the Local do not condone and will not tolerate any expressions of racial and/or ethnic bias in any form by the trustees, school district employees or students. Any written allegation of racism shall be investigated by the Superintendent and the results reported to the Board and the person reporting the incident.

2. District and school staffs shall take appropriate individual and professional action to eliminate all forms of behaviour derogatory toward ethnic and cultural groups in our schools.
3. Any written allegation of racism within the School District will be investigated by the superintendent and the results reported to the Board.
4. In instances where alleged propagandist or prejudicial conduct results in a dispute which cannot be resolved at the school level, the superintendent shall convene a committee comprised of a teacher, a school administrator, and a resource person appropriate for the case concerned. The committee shall hear any student and staff reports on the situation and, if deemed advisable, investigate them further. It shall report its deliberations to the superintendent for presentation to the Board.
RACE RELATIONS. The Burnaby School Board accepts for its educational programs, its pupil and staff personnel practices, and all its operations, the goal of promoting positive human interactions, including interactions which are free from divisive attitudes based upon race, ethnic roots, national origin, or religious affiliation. To this end, the resources of the district shall be reasonably applied toward the realization of effective multicultural / anti-racist education and the elimination of social forces which promote divisive attitudes.

RACE RELATIONS. The Board and the Union will not condone and will not tolerate any expression of racism. A joint statement to that effect will be issued annually by the Board and the Union. In the first instance, any alleged complaint shall be dealt with promptly by the Superintendent of Schools and the President of the Union or their designates.
