Recertification Stipend. In recognizing a CPE’s professionalism in maintaining a current and valid credential, Caldwell School District grants a recertification stipend in the amount of $1,000. It is the CPE’s responsibility to submit the proper paperwork with the SDE and the Human Resource Department. Recipients of this stipend are expected to meet all state guidelines for recertification, including due dates as outlined per statute and policy. A recertification stipend in the amount of $1,000.00 shall be provided for each CPE of the district provided the following conditions have been met:

Recertification Stipend. Bus drivers and other bargaining unit members required by the Board to maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), who satisfactorily complete full recertification, will receive a one hundred seventy-five dollars ($175.00) stipend. If completed prior to April 1st, the stipend will be paid in the next payroll after the bargaining unit member submits proof of completion. If completed on or after April 1st, the stipend will be paid in the August 31st payroll and the bargaining unit member will only be paid if employed by the District as of August 31st. 1. Employee will be paid per hourly rate for hours worked. 2. Field trips: Paid at $16.00/Hr. for unlimited number of hours with the exception of seat time for overnight trips. 3. Salary schedule based on 184 days - includes all days on the school calendar that are defined as student days (178 days). 4. Bus drivers shall be paid thirty (30) minutes each day for pre-trip and post trip inspection/fueling/bus clean-up at their regular rate of pay. When the outside temperature is below 20 degrees and the bus drivers are required to report earlier than normal to start the buses, they shall be paid at their regular rate of pay. 5. Bus drivers shall be paid for all time spent at the bus garage completing required paper work for route revisions, student discipline reports and other similar reports in the presence of the Transportation Supervisor of designee. All time spent must be documented and approved by the Transportation Supervisor. 6. Additionally, bus drivers shall be paid for all time spent performing the annual cleaning of the buses at the end of the school year and at least two (2) days prior to the bus inspection date, with said cleaning to be performed on school property, unless otherwise approved by the Transportation Supervisor. Time spent on annual cleaning of the buses shall not exceed five (5) hours except upon approval of the Transportation Supervisor.
