Common use of Reclassification of Position Clause in Contracts

Reclassification of Position. (a) An employee shall not have his/her salary reduced by reason of a change in the classification of his/her position that is caused other than by the employee. (b) Any employee whose position classification is changed to one with a lower maximum salary through no fault of his/her own, shall receive 50% of the negotiated salary increase applicable to the employee's new classification. Such employee shall receive the full negotiated salary increase when the maximum salary of his/her classification equals or exceeds the salary which he/she is receiving.
