Common use of Reclassification of Position Clause in Contracts

Reclassification of Position. When a position is reclassified with a significant change in the job duties and is assigned a higher pay range, the Employee in that classification shall be placed in the new pay range at a salary not more than five percent (5%) greater than the Employee’s current salary, which is considered a promotion, or the bottom of the new pay range, whichever is greater. If the change in salary range is a pay adjustment with no significant change in job duties, the Employee in that classified position shall be placed in the new pay range at the same step within the range.
