RECOGNITION AND BARGAINING UNIT. 1.1 The Employer recognizes the Guild as the exclusive representative of all sworn police officers of the Seattle Police Department (SPD) up to and including the rank of Sergeant for the purposes of bargaining with the Employer. 1.2 The elected President, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer, and members of the Board of Directors of the Guild are recognized by the Employer as official representatives of the Guild empowered to act on behalf of members of the unit for negotiating with the Employer. 1.3 The President, Vice President, and Secretary-Treasurer or their designated alternate shall be the liaison between members of the bargaining unit and the Seattle Police Department.
