Rehire. Laid off employees will be placed on an eligible rehire list(s) designated by the employee for twenty-four (24) months. Employees will be automatically placed on the rehire list for the classification and FTE status from which they were laid off. In addition, based on employee request, employees identified for layoff may be on the following rehire lists:

Rehire. The Employer shall make a concerted effort to re-employ bargaining unit members on the rehire list. Bargaining unit members on the rehire list are eligible to take all Professional & Organizational Development (POD) courses on a space available basis upon payment of designated fees. Employees without employment options will be placed on the rehire list(s) designated by the employee for twenty-four (24) months. In addition to the rehire list for the classification and FTE status from which the employee was laid off, employees identified for layoff may request placement on the following rehire lists:
Rehire. 3.4.1 Where there is an increase in the number of employees within a job classification, the last employee laid off by the Employer, within the geographic jurisdiction covered by this Agreement, will be the first employee rehired, provided qualifications and ability are equal. In the cases where two or more employees are laid off on the same day, the senior employee shall be the first rehired, provided qualifications and ability are equal.
Rehire. An employee who separates from a job class in good standing while holding a permanent or probationary appointment may be appointed without recruitment or examination in the same class of position or in a lower class in the same series, provided such reappointment takes place within two (2) years from the employee's date of separation from the job class. Upon advance written approval of the Director of the Division of Personnel, such reappointment may be in a “parallel” or closely related class.
Rehire. 19.8.1 When the District rehires any unit member in any job classification, unit members on layoff from said job classification shall be rehired in reverse order in which they were laid off.
